The symbol used for a kick drum shows the round drum and the pedal.
On a real kick drum, the large floor standing drum is hit with a beater operated by a foot pedal. This is why it is said to be ‘kicked’.
This is the Classic Kick Drum sound – a forced bilabial plosive!
